I had worn out one NIV study bible so I basically knew what to expect in buying a new one. It has had more added since my old edition and every extra bit (well, mostly) is helpful. I got large print and was not prepared for how very heavy it is. Not exactly the best for caryying back and forth to church.

What I want you to know! News From Beyond the Grave - Book Review

If we once again with some of the great minds of our time, the symbols of civilization, some might say, what say? What would we ask them? If communication with the dead really possible? In "What I want you to know!" by Carter Shepard and Carolyn Cummings, it seems possible and the examples provided could not destroy the prejudices of the reader for the afterlife.

Carolyn, a professional medium for twenty years, and Carter, a student of metaphysics for thirtyEighteen years interviewing celebrities on the other side. It may seem shining star, but the list of participants is what it is incredible. From Albert Einstein, some of which included Benjamin Franklin, John Kennedy Jr., his mother, Jackie Kennedy, Howard Hughes and Steve Irwin. These souls are as much a part of what our society is today, so it would make sense for some answers. What would you ask intelligent spirits that now have the opportunity to seemuch more than us here on earth? What is our purpose here on earth? What is death? There is a heaven or hell?

The answers to these are not all that surprising to those who have been a student of metaphysics. But the questions and answers about the current situation in Iraq, the current president and the race for the office, and other political thoughts were a bit 'more shocking to me. I was not able to believe with all my heart that the answers are not what the questionerwanted to "listen." The issue of religion has been a bit 'shocking to me. I had the feeling that the authors wanted some news they had represented. My opinion, of course, and perhaps not what the authors had in mind, after all. Your responsibility is to those who believe it may be, and those who do not, just do not.

These "messages" from the grave are sometimes funny, often moving, and they are certainly food for thought. Opening the mind to the survival ofthe mind is a goal that aimed to keep the book. "What do they know that I want!" is a really interesting project.

The Last Lecture for $5.93

Wow. What a way to put things into perspective. I borrowed this book while down in Tampa in the beginning of this year for my mother's open heart surgery. This is an incredible story that brings home the fact that none of us know how much time we have on this earth and you can't sit back and waste time complaining. Use that energy to make things better. I have always tried to live by the motto: If you can't be part of the solution, don't be part of the problem. This is a book that you will read in one sitting but the introspection that begins will be long lasting. Surround yourself with people who maintain a degree of hope and determination, no matter how tough things get. It will make what time you do have, however long that may be, all the more enjoyable for you and those who are most important to you.

Book Review - Reese Chronological Encyclopedia of Christian biographies of Ed Reese

A chronological collection of Christian biographies

And Reese has studied the Christian biographies for most of his life and became a respected authority on the subject. This incredible collection of biographies and Christian chronology is a compilation of Who's Who in the leading group in the Christian church, from the days of the martyrs of the first century to contemporary leaders. Tom Malone, Bruce M. Metzger, Gilbert E Patterson, Lee Roberson, Jerry Falwell, Ruth BellGraham, are just some of the more familiar contemporary leaders, the church until his death was the latest death of Ruth Bell Graham's earlier this year. The book consists of over 5,000 drawings and 4,000 photographs. More than 1,000 organizations have collaborated in this effort and the proof of completeness of Ed and the integrity of the work.

Library of personal biography and has more than 1000 books. Selection for inclusion in this study was the aforementioned two or more, dependingtimes referenced in the books of his impressive collection. Christian organizations, Bible schools, mission agencies and denominations the most important were contacted for further details of the record can be displayed in the project.

The addition of a complete alphabetical index, a list of other influential figures, a list of abbreviations and a glossary of the reference value more user-friendly of this work. A list of recognition to organizations that provide additional information inValidity and integrity of Ed's phenomenal performance.

This is more of a Christian leader dictionary. This is an encyclopedia full of biographies of men and women who have influenced the growth and development of the Church through the centuries.

I have been blessed as I have personally reviewed the years 1946 to today. I found I could identify with many of the people in the foreground. Some of these leaders and ministries have had an influence on my ownChristian life, growth and spiritual development.
This is a great success for Ed Reese. "The Chronological Encyclopedia of Christian Biographies" as an extraordinary resource, and a great tribute to top leaders of the twenty centuries of Christianity. The book is an important and should be added to the library of smart pastors, denominational leaders, seminaries and Bible schools.

Book Review - The Making of a Man of God by Alan Redpath

The Bible describes his hero is never anything less than a very human light. The story of David is no exception. We see the triumph of David, but his weaknesses, fears and failures have not reduced the pages of Scripture.

In the book of Alan Redpath, The Making of a Man of God, David's life is examined, and the truth are applied to our daily walk. I would recommend this book required reading for high school students home. I think that will serve as a great encouragement tocontinue on their spiritual journey.

As your student is considering to change the lives of decisions on their future, that will be remembered by David, who has seen the Lord for guidance. Thanks to his experience in battle and pursuit of Saul, why Redpath demonstrates our heart must be clean for God's guidance received.

The effects of secularism are also addressed. Redpath Saul used to illustrate that affects the world is dangerous. Saul David's attempt to dresswith its own weapons in his fight against Goliath, is his attempt, as David Goliath to make as much as possible. Goliath was a type of Satan, or the world. The Christian truly willing to be used by God, the world must be rejected and only God, the methods of battle victorious.

Another problem is relevant to young men and women entering adulthood, the ability to wait for God's guidance, rather than acting out of passion or emotion. Redpath uses the account of Naboth's vineyardTo illustrate this, and the fact that God's promises are always sure to point out even amid periods of waiting for leadership.

The Making of a man of God was an encouragement and reminder to me that the man (or woman) of God through Jesus Christ is fully equipped and the power of the word, he would try to take the fight against the world and our culture, control and claim the lives of our children. "The man, who is on his face before God is always against theEnemy. "

Immutable - Spirituality and Enlightenment by unASLEEP

Sometimes in our search for truth, we mistakenly believe we do require certain rituals or traditions, honor and show respect for the divine. This error is due to our mistake somehow still seeing the divine as something of ourselves, and often as a unit of sorts. We think we can appease, bribe, or remove, or this divine essence and presumably to do with these rituals and traditions, and, if not the Deity would somehow disappointedor perhaps even anger. Luckily, none of these things are true. But what * * The real is not to be easily expressed in words. The Hole in Our Gospel: What does God expect of Us? The Answer that Changed my Life and Might Just Change the World for $6.78

Cheap The Hole in Our Gospel: What does God expect of Us? The Answer that Changed my Life and Might Just Change the World Discount Review Shop

When someone says "There is hole in my pocket, pants, sock, cup, etc"....it is usually quite obvious where the hole is. Author Richard Stearns examines the hole in the gospel that is preached, lived, & sought after in Western culture. Stearns pulls no punches in sharing how his world was rocked through conviction & transformation. Stearns text doesn't cut corners...by only focusing on the homeless people of the United States. He captures the essence of global disciple making & lets the reader know of differences anyone can make across the globe.

The author's story is personal, which makes it a compelling read. He does his best to acknowledge the WHOLE gospel & not just the parts of "personal blessings". His plea for Christians to get out of the bleachers, off the sidelines & into the game of making an impact is eye-opening. Needless to say, this book is convicting to the core while also carrying immediate encouragement to start using our resources to make a difference. While reading the text, some verses from Psalm 67 came to mind...

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your saving power among all nations.

The Power of a Praying® Wife for $7.89

Cheap The Power of a Praying® Wife Discount Review Shop

I received this book along with the study guide for my wedding, but didn't pick it up till after our 1st anniversary (they were put away in storage somewhere). But I have not put them down since! They are AWESOME for an attitude adjustment! :)

This main book (not just the prayer book) has chapters introducing each prayer, then a prayer incorporating some scripture, and finally some separate scriptures relating to that area of life. This study guide book accompanies that book (it has none of the prayers in it, and so is a lot less useful without having the main book). It is a very practical guide through scriptures and prayer - a helpful way of looking at your life and your husband's, and working through a more specific way of praying for him. Stormie asks questions that cause you to reflect on specific things you see in your relationship with your husband, or in his relationship with God/others. I think the study guide book should automatically come with the main book, because it gets you thinking specifically rather than generally while you're praying!

The study guide book follows the sections in this main book exactly and recommends one section per week. I found that I would complete the entire study guide in about 30 - 45 minutes one morning, and then spend time throughout the week looking back over the questions/answers as I prayed through that section in the main book.

I have prayed through the Power of a Praying Wife countless times over the past two years (I just use it continuously, and when I get to the end I start again), and I have seen the fruit of my labor in a constantly changing (for the better) attitude in my own heart, as well as a God-given understanding of my husband and his needs. I highly recommend buying both of these books together and never ceasing to use them!! You do NOT need a "bad" marriage or relationship for this book to be helpful. I recommend it to EVERY married woman!

The Ball and the Cross for $4.69

The Ball and the Cross, (1906), G. K. Chesterton's second novel, both entertains and intellectually challenges the reader. Early in the story two diametrically opposed protagonists, Evan MacIan, a devout Catholic and James Turnbull, a passionate atheist, are interrupted by the secular authorities before they are able to carryout a traditional duel by swords. They escape with their swords, but become subjects of a countrywide manhunt and the center of media attention.

Chesterton's absurd plot thinly disguises a witty, profound, and provocative religious and philosophical inquiry, one that resonates with today's readers as well as it did with readers a century ago. (I suspect that not that much has really changed. In our contemporary context non-believers still distrust sincere believers, perhaps even more so given the growth in Moslem extremism, the Arab-Jewish conflict, and Christian activism in American politics.)

The duel is continually postponed due either to the untimely appearance of police, or to unexpected encounters with an eclectic mix of characters, all apparently allegorical representations of one type or another. As the story proceeds, we readers find that the two duelists are more alike than different, as they both hold firm beliefs, in contrast to the secular world around them which has largely embraced relativism and more passive religious convictions.

I suggest that you also visit the other reader reviews as they offer nsightful and interesting perspectives. Chesterton brings out the best in a reader. His stories encourage us, even prod us, to consider and reflect upon profound issues and matters - although he does so in a witty, amusing, even whimsical context. Perhaps Chesterton is saying that religious and philosophical inquiry is simply too serious not to enjoy.

Journey of Souls

Why are we here on earth and where we go after death? What will become of us when we get there? Many authors have written about past lives, but very little about what happens to our soul, waiting for rebirth - until now.

When Dr. Michael Newton, a Certified Master Hypnotherapist setbacks began its customers to access memories of past lives, he came upon a discovery of enormous proportions that can "see" in the spiritual worldthe mind's eye of persons who are in a hypnotized state, and that customers change in this state knows what was done to his soul between life on earth.

Michael Newton said: "If death is the end of us all, then life would really be useless. However, some people present in force under one and make a connection to a higher power, and even a sense of 'eternal soul. If in fact we have a' soul, then where to go after death? Is nottruly a paradise full of intelligent minds outside of our physical universe? Look at what that means? What we do when we get there? There is a Supreme Being responsible for this paradise? "

Journey Of Souls provides answers to all these problems for us in this jam packed book contains seventy amazing hynotherapy Sessions.

In a meeting as "Case 8," said a customer record to have a friend coming to meet her when she crossed, ha. Gives the name of his friendRachel says, and she is always there to greet them when they called and passes as his guardian.

Another meeting as "Case 9," a registered customer learned of his death so exuberant, with much excitement, as if he was very happy to come to this moment. He explains that he has no one to meet him, as he takes on the strip, because this is not a new experience for him, had done many times and is familiar with wherever he goes. He stated thatcarry up on what he describes as something like a radio band. His involuntary swept away in a sense.

In "House 13" The client had committed suicide in a previous life, and move to another world. Dr. Newton asked if he received the punishment for his act as one mind, and he says that there is no such thing as a punishment in this field. When he and his "spiritual adviser", he meets learn to die by choice, if he intends to commit suicide, whichmust return later and more or less the same things again and again in another life.

As someone who was raised was all to judge God and the fear of terror warning of hell fire and gnashing of teeth, I do not live a blameless life, this book unpleasant to my feelings on these issues should retire. This little book separates religion from the experience of death I can see that the fear of death is something that has been programmed in me ashalf of control on this earth plane.

Now we finally have the evidence we have searched the vexed question of whether there is life after death. I recommend this book to all. Because death and dying tends to make people feel uneasy because they do not know what to expect or even if one expected anything, this book will help you put your thoughts on death, dying and rebirth, and one for all.

I recommend this book.
